#1 Heading North to the Nutmeg State
Sunny and I are heading to Litchfield, CT, for the summer and plan to review for our readers various nuggets we find during our travels. We will be visiting cafes, restaurants, farmer markets, state parks, etc. throughout the “ Nutmeg State” and will let you know what we thought of our visit. Litchfield is a quintessential small New England town in the northwest corner of Connecticut with a town green, white steepled churches, and many high end farm to table restaurants. The rich soil produces some of the best vegetables you will ever find ( especially the corn and tomatoes) and farm stands along the country roads allow you to shop daily for items literally picked that morning.
Given that we will be there for the summer, we don’t anticipate posting a nugget each day, but be sure to check regularly to see what we have found. We look forward to having you read our reviews. Enjoy and welcome aboard.
Interesting Note : Connecticut is called the “ Nutmeg State “. Legend has it that in colonial times, nutmeg was an expensive spice and some merchants carved and sold wooden nutmegs to unsuspecting customers.
THANKS FOR INVITING MY TO THIS WONDERFULL ADVENTURE
